Onto Langkawi where the
'Hole in the Wall' with its topical restaurant is in a winding
waterway banked by mangrove and tropical rainforest that cuts
the top portion of Langkawi into two pieces. With many interests
ashore to explore, the mountain top cable car, bird sanctuary
and guided jungle walks it lives up to its name as the island of
legends.
|
Towering rock islands with caves and tunnels are common and covered with lush greenery these are the homes for the many sea eagles seen daily riding the thermals and diving for fish. Labyrinths of waterways thread through this scenery as can both the yacht and the tendor for explorations. Quiet, mostly uninhabited, dotted with beaches, waterfalls and wildlife.

Close by,
on Dayang, is a fresh water lake said to have magical properties, by legend of course, and well worth a swim to garner some extra luck. Pantai Cenang is the beach of choice whilst just 2 hours south is the
floating platform from where snorkeling and diving expeditions take
place.
A
popular beach front cafe is the 'Lighthouse' along the quiet Tengah
beach and just opposite - a small island with its unique beach. The
whole island with its many satellite islands can be circumnavigated
easily in a week leaving time to visit some other nearby groups.
The main town of Kuah is well known for
its duty free shopping whilst tours ashore can be arranged from any of
the fine beaches.
